At Mount Zion Institute of Christian Drama (MZI), we offer supportive and inspirational environments for passionate minds to learn and grow in the art of gospel storytelling. We are a theatre school focused on godly formation, artistic excellence, and mastery of theatre arts (Christian drama). Directing for Stage/Film
MZI offers a specialization in directing, training students to stage compelling Christian dramas with biblical accuracy, artistic vision, and spiritual sensitivity.
Playwriting/Screenwriting
Through its playwriting and screenwriting specialization, MZI equips students to craft original scripts and screenplays that communicate the Gospel message with dramatic power and theological depth.
Technical Design
The technical design specialization at MZI trains students in lighting, sound, set construction, and costume design, ensuring that every Christian drama production is visually and atmospherically compelling for gospel impact.
Scenic/Set Design
MZI's scenic and set design specialization teaches students how to create immersive stage environments that enhance biblical storytelling and support the thematic preoccupation of every Christian theatre production.
Costume and Make-Up Design
In our Costume and Make-Up Design specialization, students master the principles of period styling, character transformation, and visual storytelling; learning to use fabric, colour, and prosthetic application to reveal dramatic subtext and support the theological arc of every Christian theatre production.
Dance and Choreography
The Dance and Choreography specialization trains students in movement dynamics, spatial awareness, and rhythmic phrasing with the goal to equip them to compose mind-blowing choreography that interprets Scripture physically, supports dramatic action, and elevates the worship dimension of every Christian theatre production.
Music
Our Music Theatre and Musical Performance specialization develops vocal technique, ensemble singing, and musical interpretation enabling students to integrate song and story, advance narrative through score, and deliver Christ-centred performances with both emotional authenticity and technical precision
Film & Media Production
The Film and Media Production specialization immerses students in cinematography, editing, sound design, and post-production workflow. It teaches student enthusiates to translate live-stage storytelling into visual media that reaches wider audiences while maintaining the theological integrity of Christian drama.
Theatre Management
Theatre Management specialization develops skills in arts administration, production and event management, creative entrepreneurship, audience development, publicity, and cultural leadership. It prepares graduates for careers in theatre, film, cultural organizations, and the broader creative industries, positioning them as leaders in theatre arts education and entertainment management.

Our programmes are widely consulted. The Mount Zion Institute of Christian Drama is in collaboration with the Redeemer’s University offering degree, direct entry and post graduate diploma.
